Ice Cream Recall Wells Enterprises

LE MARS, Iowa — More than 17,800 cartons of ice cream and frozen yogurt have been recalled due to plastic contamination concerns. Wells Enterprises, based in Iowa, initiated the voluntary recall on April 25, 2025.

The recall includes 22 flavors of ice cream and frozen yogurt, packaged in three-gallon tubs. These products were distributed to 103 centers across the United States, including locations in Le Mars, Iowa; Wyoming, Michigan; Rosemont, Illinois; Houston, Texas; and Fort Worth, Texas.

The affected products have “Best If Used By” dates ranging from March 2026 through October 2026. As of now, there have been no reported injuries or adverse health reactions related to the recall.

This recall has been classified as a Class II event by the FDA, indicating that while the contaminated products may cause “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences,” the risk of serious harm is considered low.

A full list of the recalled products, including recall numbers, codes, quantities, and descriptions, is available on the FDA’s website. ABC News reached out to Wells Enterprises for comments but has not yet received a response.
