Incumbent Jones Leads Early Results in Ontario Election for Chatham-Kent—Leamington

Chatham-Kent, Ontario – With 59 of 89 polls reporting in the Ontario provincial election, incumbent Trevor Jones of the Progressive Conservative Party is projected to be re-elected in the Chatham-Kent—Leamington riding. Jones has garnered 18,374 votes, representing 53.08% of those counted thus far.
Bill Kirby of the Liberal Party trails in second place with 6,082 votes (17.57%), while Christian Sachs of the Ontario New Democratic Party (NDP) holds third with 5,805 votes (16.77%).
Jones has been the representative for Chatham-Kent—Leamington since 2022. The complete vote breakdown shows additional candidates: Rhonda Jubenville from the New Blue Party with 2,748 votes (7.94%) and Matthew Davey from the Green Party with 1,018 votes (2.94%). There is also Phillip St-Laurent from the Ontario Party with 590 votes (1.75%).
Provincially, the Progressive Conservatives have seen success in 60 races, with leads in 18 additional ridings. They currently hold a total of 1,644,591 votes, totaling 43.66% of the popular vote.
The NDP has secured 14 races and is leading in 10 others, with a total of 682,814 votes, making up 18.13% of the vote. The Liberal Party has won 11 races and is ahead in one more, with 1,112,300 votes (29.53%). The Green Party has won in two ridings, amassing 183,530 votes (4.87%). Independents currently hold one seat.
