Independiente Medellín Beats Deportes Tolima 3-1 in Torneo Apertura

IBAGUÉ, Colombia — Independiente Medellín defeated Deportes Tolima 3-1 on the road at the Manuel Murillo Toro Stadium on June 4, 2025, during the second round of the Torneo Apertura.
The match started poorly for Medellín, who fell behind in the 15th minute when Luis Quiñones scored for Tolima with a header. Despite initial struggles, Medellín managed to find their rhythm.
Medellín tied the game with a goal from Francisco Fydriszewski, who found the net with a left-footed shot following a well-placed cross from Francisco Chaverra.
In the second half, Medellín quickly took the lead when Léider Berrío capitalized on a defensive error to volley the ball into the net. The lead was extended in the 73rd minute when Brayan Léon Muñiz scored after a blunder by Tolima goalkeeper William Cuesta.
