India Crowned WLC 2024 Champions by Defeating Pakistan in the Finale, Rayudu Shines with a Fifty

Entering the grand finale of the World Championship of Legends 2024, it was India Champions pitted against Pakistan Champions in a high-octane clash in Birmingham.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first. Shoaib Malik’s fiery innings of 41 runs lifted Pakistan to 156 runs for 6 wickets in their stipulated 20 overs.

In response, India, led by Yuvraj Singh, showcased a fantastic performance with Ambati Rayudu‘s quick half-century guiding them to victory. Rayudu‘s 50 runs off just 30 balls ensured India reached the target of 157 runs with five wickets and five balls to spare.

India’s chase started strongly with Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu forming a promising 34-run partnership before Uthappa fell prey to Amir’s bowling for just 10 runs.

Next in line, Suresh Raina failed to make a significant impact with only 4 runs before departing. Gurkeerat Singh Mann then joined Rayudu in the middle, contributing 25 runs in a partnership for the third wicket.

Rayudu was the star of the match, smashing an impressive half-century at a strike rate of 166.66 with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Mann’s 34 runs included 2 fours and a six before getting dismissed.

In Pakistan’s innings, Cameraman Akmal and Sharjeel Khan set a steady start, managing a 14-run partnership for the opening wicket before Anureet Singh struck to dismiss Sharjeel.

Subsequently, Kamran Akmal and Sohaib Maqsood built another partnership, contributing 30 runs for the second wicket before Maqsood fell for 21 runs off 12 balls.

The highlight of Pakistan’s innings came from Shoaib Malik, who played a crucial knock of 41 runs off 36 balls. However, none of the other batsmen managed to make a significant impact, leading to a below-par total.

Anureet Singh was the pick of the bowlers for India, claiming 3 wickets, while Vinay Kumar, Pawan Negi, and Irfan Pathan took one wicket each.
