India Vs Bangladesh T20 2024

The Indian cricket team has secured victory over Bangladesh in the ongoing T20I series, with the series currently standing at 2-0 in India‘s favor. The final match is scheduled to take place on October 12 in Hyderabad, where India will aim to complete a series whitewash following their recent Test series win against Bangladesh.

Bangladesh, renowned for their celebratory ‘Nagin Dance’ post-victory, has been unable to perform their signature celebration, having yet to win a match on this tour. The Bangladeshi team had arrived in India with high spirits, after recently defeating Pakistan in a two-match Test series under the captaincy of Najmul Hossain Shanto.

The Indian team, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma in the Test series, showcased a dominant performance by defeating Bangladesh 2-0, including a remarkable second Test, where Bangladesh was bowled out twice within two days.

A social media post by BCCI secretary Jay Shah highlighted the impressive performance of the Indian team, especially the contributions of young players, emphasizing the team’s intent to maintain this momentum in the series.

In the T20 series, India, led by Surya Kumar Yadav, continued their dominance. In the first T20I match in Gwalior, Bangladesh set a target of 127, which India chased down with seven wickets in hand. The second match in Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium saw India setting a substantial target of 222, only for Bangladesh to fall short at 135 runs, losing the match by 86 runs.

Historically, India has maintained a superior record over Bangladesh in T20Is, having won 15 out of 16 matches between the two nations over the span of 15 years. Bangladesh’s sole victory came in November 2019 in Delhi.

The squads for both teams have been highlighted. Bangladesh’s roster features captain Najmul Hossain Shanto leading players like Litton Das and Mustafizur Rahman, while the Indian team includes emerging players like Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy under Surya Kumar Yadav’s captaincy.

Looking forward, discussions are underway concerning potential player rotations, with young Indian players like spin bowler Ravi Bishnoi and fast bowler Harshit Rana potentially being given opportunities to play in preparation for future tournaments such as the Champions Trophy.
