India U-19 Star Arshin Kulkarni’s Dream Come True Meeting With Role Model Jacques Kallis

Indian colts are gearing up for their U-19 World Cup campaign in South Africa, but prior to the tournament, young star Arshin Kulkarni had a surreal experience, meeting his role model Jacques Kallis. Kulkarni became an overnight sensation with his outstanding performances in junior ODIs and tournaments in recent months. The 18-year-old cricketer couldn’t believe his luck when he came face to face with the legendary all-rounder.

In a heartwarming video shared on his Instagram, Kulkarni can be seen getting his jersey signed by Kallis, whom he has admired for over a decade. What made the interaction remarkable was Kulkarni touching Kallis’ feet to seek his blessings. Kallis, who is currently associated with the Pretoria Capitals in the SA20, was taken by surprise but gladly blessed the young talent.

Expressing his emotions, Kulkarni wrote on Instagram, “The best day of my life. For the past 12 years, you have been the person I looked upon as a perfect cricketer and a role model. Today, I finally met you. Every time my parents asked me about my favorite destination, I would say South Africa in hope of meeting him. I have always been your admirer, and you have always been my inspiration. Always and forever, sir.”

Kulkarni, who was recently acquired by the Lucknow Super Giants in the 2024 auction, will undoubtedly be in the spotlight as the team’s most popular player. India, led by Uday Saharan, the defending champions, will kickstart their U-19 World Cup campaign on January 20 against Bangladesh in Bloemfontein. Alongside Bangladesh, Ireland, and the USA, India is placed in Group A. The top three teams from each group will progress to the Super Six stage.
