Ipl 2025 Uncapped Players Cricket Highlights

NEW DELHI: The Indian Premier League 2025 is turning eyes towards emerging stars as several uncapped players step into the limelight.

As the tournament approaches its halfway point, the spotlight isn’t just on well-known superstars. Uncapped players like Digvesh Rathi and Priyansh Arya are making headlines with impressive performances. Legendary cricketer MS Dhoni, who began his career as an uncapped player, also remains a key figure, recently scoring 134 runs at a strike rate of 152.27.

Among the uncapped bowlers, Digvesh Rathi of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has stood out with nine wickets in eight matches at an economy of 7.43. His best bowling figures of 2/30 demonstrate his skill during crucial matches. “Rathi’s control and temperament have added depth to our bowling,” a team source stated.

Kolkata Knight RidersVaibhav Arora, with eight wickets in just six matches, is close on Rathi’s heels despite having an economy of 9.11. “His knack for breakthroughs makes him invaluable,” a staff member commented. Mumbai IndiansVignesh Puthur has taken six wickets in four matches, showcasing potential in limited opportunities.

Ashwani Kumar also made waves by claiming four wickets in his debut, becoming the first Indian to do so. “If MI utilizes him wisely, he could become a late-season X-factor,” said a cricket analyst.

Conversely, some uncapped bowlers like Simarjeet Singh, Prince Yadav, and Yash Thakur have struggled, with high bowling averages indicating a tough adjustment period in the league.

On the batting front, Priyansh Arya made a remarkable impact by scoring 103 runs against Chennai Super Kings in his fourth IPL appearance. He is currently averaging over a staggering strike rate of 200. Arya’s teammates, Nehal Wadhera and Prabhsimran Singh, have also contributed significantly, showcasing a better selection of shots in crucial moments.

“It’s an exciting time for young players,” noted a cricket coach. “Despite some challenges, they are adapting and rising to the occasion.”

As the IPL progresses, there’s hope that some uncapped talents, like Rathi, will gain consideration for national team selection, proving that new heroes can emerge from the most unexpected places.
