Ishq Vishk Rebound, the latest addition to the Ishq Vishk franchise, had a lackluster start at the box office on its opening day. Directed by Nipun Avinash Dharmadhikari, the film featuring Rohit Saraf, Pashmina Roshan, Naila Grrewal, and Jibraan Khan failed to make a significant impact, earning less than ₹1 crore nett on Friday.

The storyline of Ishq Vishk Rebound revolves around the complexities of a romantic relationship between best friends who fall in love with each other, navigating the challenges of their newfound feelings. Despite the promotional efforts by the young cast, the film struggled to attract a substantial audience on its debut.

Notably, this Gen Z version of the popular franchise differs from the original Ishq Vishk, which starred Shahid Kapoor, Amrita Rao, Vishal Malhotra, and Shenaz Treasurywala back in 2003. Producer Ramesh Taurani’s Tips Films is the production house behind both films, with the latest installment aiming to capture the essence of modern-day love stories.

Comparatively, Ishq Vishk Rebound outperformed other recent releases such as Do Aur Do Pyaar and Kiran Rao‘s Laapataa Ladies in terms of opening day earnings. However, the film faces the challenge of sustaining audience interest over the weekend amidst a limited selection of Hindi films currently in theaters.

The ensemble cast of Ishq Vishk Rebound includes social media influencer Kusha Kapila, veterans Supriya Pilgaonkar and Sheeba Chadha, along with Akarsh Khurana and Shataf Figar in supporting roles. Despite the mixed reception on its opening day, the film will look to capitalize on word-of-mouth promotion and positive reviews to bolster its box office performance in the coming days.
