NEW YORK, N.Y. — Ivanka Trump, former senior adviser to President Donald Trump, has ruled out a formal role in her father’s potential second presidency, citing her focus on family and a desire to avoid the “darkness” of politics. In a rare interview with lifestyle bloggers Lauryn and Michael Bosstick, Trump reflected on her time in the White House and her plans for the future.

“When my father was elected, I had no intention of serving,” Trump said during the nearly two-hour conversation. “This was not what I set my life up for. I loved the life I was building for our young family in New York.” Despite her initial reluctance, Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, joined the administration in 2017, where they faced scrutiny over potential conflicts of interest.

Trump described her White House tenure as a “tremendous privilege” but emphasized that she has no plans to return. “This time, it’s so different because so many people are raising their hands, and I’m so grateful to them,” she said. Instead, she plans to focus on being “the best freaking mom I could be” and supporting her father in a personal capacity, such as watching movies or sports together.

The interview, conducted on the Bossticks’ Dear Media platform, touched on Trump’s family life, her children’s interests, and her decision to step away from politics. She revealed that her daughter Arabella, 11, has taken up jiu jitsu, a martial art popular among some conservative figures. “At 11, she came to me and said, ‘As a woman, I feel like I need to know how to defend myself,’” Trump recalled. “I thought it was the coolest thing.”

Trump also addressed criticism she faced during her father’s presidency, saying she chose not to engage in social media battles. “For me, it doesn’t feel right to be combative with a stranger on social media,” she said. “I took a lot of punches I just absorbed and didn’t punch back on.”

While she avoided discussing her stepmother, Melania Trump, Ivanka praised her late mother, Ivana Trump, as an “unbelievable role model” and “impossibly glamorous.” She also highlighted her father’s political achievements, calling his potential return to the White House “incredible.”

Trump’s decision to step back from politics comes as her father faces multiple legal challenges and prepares for a possible 2024 presidential run. Her absence from the campaign trail marks a significant shift from her prominent role in his first administration.
