Jamie Lynn Spears Celebrates Daughter Maddie’s College Commitment to University of Southern Mississippi

Jamie Lynn Spears is beaming with pride as her daughter Maddie has committed to the University of Southern Mississippi to pursue her academic and athletic career. The announcement was made by Jamie Lynn on her Instagram account on Monday, November 25.

In her heartfelt post, Jamie Lynn expressed her emotions, recalling the challenges she faced during her own pregnancy with Maddie at the age of 16. “All in my feels, bc my baby girl has committed to furthering her athletic & academic career at the University of Southern Miss!” she wrote. She reflected on how the world judged her decision to have a baby at such a young age and how proud she is now to see Maddie, who is also 16, achieving her goals.

Jamie Lynn praised Maddie’s determination and strong will, attributing her success to her own convictions and the grace of God. “I feel like I can’t take much credit for anything, bc I have witnessed this kid go through, face, & overcome some impossible things by her own strong will, convictions, determination, & the sheer grace of God,” she said.

The actress also shared her efforts to better herself and break generational curses for the sake of her children. “I did everything I could to better myself in order to be the mama she deserved, & to break those generational curses, so they weren’t passed on to her or any future generations,” she added.

Jamie Lynn concluded her post with a message of pride and support for Maddie, saying, “I think her story is a true testament to trusting God’s will & being able to achieve whatever you’re willing to work hard for, and I couldn’t be more proud of her Love you, Maddie🤍🖤💛 GO EAGLES 🦅.”

Along with her sentimental caption, Jamie Lynn shared photos of Maddie throughout her softball career, as well as an OK Magazine cover story from 16 years ago announcing Maddie’s birth. Maddie was born on June 19, 2008, to Jamie Lynn and her then-fiancé Casey Aldridge. Jamie Lynn is also a mother to her younger daughter, Ivey Joan, 6, with her husband Jamie Watson.
