Jax Taylor Opens Up About Mental Health Journey on The Valley

LOS ANGELES, California — Jax Taylor is revealing personal struggles and the catalyst behind his decision to check into a mental health clinic on the second episode of Season 2 of Bravo‘s The Valley. In a preview shared ahead of the Tuesday airing, Taylor discusses his journey and the pressures leading up to his inpatient treatment.
“I’m going to this mental hospital — this mental clinic, or mental health clinic,” Jax confesses in the clip. He admits that he is frustrated with the assessment process. “A week long of me having this conversation 50 f—king times. I get it. I got it,” he expresses.
Family played a decisive role in Jax’s choice to seek help. “It’s tough for me to ask for help. But, I talked to my sister, and she was like, ‘You should go,’” he notes. His friends also encouraged him, staging an intervention last summer, which he described as “probably the hardest thing of my life.”
He reiterated his gratitude towards those who noticed his struggles, saying, “It was really, really bad. I don’t know where I would be if I didn’t go to this institution.” Jax first entered treatment in July 2024.
The upcoming episode will also reveal more about Jax’s personal life, including the breakdown of his relationship with Brittany Cartwright. In a podcast interview, he explained the turning point occurred due to his reaction upon discovering messages from Brittany to another man.
“I just saw the iPad, and she was still talking to Julian and sending him pictures,” he reminisced. Brittany also discussed her own experiences, stating that although she had “weak moments” during their separation, those times are behind her. Both shared that communication has been strained after their split as they navigate co-parenting their son, Cruz.
As the episode approaches, viewers will witness more of Jax’s raw emotions and the realities of his recovery journey when The Valley airs on Bravo.
