Jaxson Dart Nfl Draft 2025

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin — The 2025 NFL Draft concluded Sunday after three days and 257 picks, showcasing the talents of many college athletes. Among those selected, former Corner Canyon High School quarterback Jaxson Dart made headlines when the New York Giants traded back into the first round to draft him at No. 25 overall.

Giants Head Coach Brian Daboll expressed enthusiasm about Dart’s potential. ‘I like the way he plays. I like his competitive fire and accuracy,’ he said after the first round. The Giants had previously struggled with their passing game, finishing with a bottom-five offense last season.

Dart’s journey from Kaysville, Utah, to the NFL Draft is notable. He transferred to Corner Canyon High School before his senior year, where he threw for a state-record 67 touchdowns in a single season. After a brief tenure at USC, where he played six games, Dart transferred to Ole Miss and finished his college career impressively, throwing for over 10,600 yards and 72 touchdowns.

The Giants, having signed veteran quarterback Russell Wilson to a one-year deal, plan to develop Dart under an experienced player. ‘Russ will be our starter,’ Daboll confirmed, indicating Dart’s presence will allow for a nurturing transition into the starting role in the future.

In addition to Dart, five other players with Utah ties were drafted during the event. Caleb Lohner, a former Utah tight end, was selected by the Denver Broncos at No. 241, while Jackson Hawes from Highland High School went to the Buffalo Bills at No. 173. Kearns High School’s Jeffrey Bassa was picked by the Kansas City Chiefs at No. 156, and Shedeur Sanders was chosen by the Cleveland Browns at No. 144.

The 2025 NFL Draft marked a historic occasion for the Titans, who held the first overall pick for the first time since relocating to Tennessee. This year’s draft also continued a trend of quarterback selections, with projections suggesting multiple quarterbacks could go in the first round.
