Jay Leno With Reedley Firefighters At Wildfire Base Camp

LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. — Reedley firefighters battling Southern California wildfires received a surprise visit and heartfelt thanks from former late-night talk show host Jay Leno on Monday. The firefighters, who were reassigned from the Hurst Fire near Sylmar to the Eaton Fire near Pasadena, met Leno at their base camp.

The Reedley Firefighters Association shared a photo of the crew posing with Leno, who expressed his gratitude for their efforts in combating the devastating wildfires. “It was an incredible moment for our team,” said a spokesperson for the association. “Jay took the time to thank us personally, which really lifted everyone’s spirits.”

The firefighters, part of the WT52 crew, have been working tirelessly alongside other Central Valley teams to contain the blazes that have ravaged Southern California. The Eaton Fire, one of the most active wildfires in the region, has required significant resources and manpower.

“Our E531 crew is still assigned to the Eaton Fire, and we’re doing everything we can to protect lives and property,” the spokesperson added. The wildfires have forced evacuations and destroyed thousands of acres, with firefighters facing challenging conditions.

Leno, a longtime California resident, has been known to support first responders and emergency personnel. His visit to the base camp highlighted the importance of community solidarity during natural disasters. “It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do,” said one firefighter. “We’re grateful for the support.”

As the wildfires continue to burn, firefighters remain on high alert, with additional crews being deployed to affected areas. The Reedley Firefighters Association urged residents to stay informed and follow evacuation orders to ensure their safety.
