Austin, Texas — Jay Rodriguez, a silver medalist at the ADCC World Championships, has been removed from the B-Team due to inappropriate interactions with women at the gym. The decision came quickly after reports surfaced that Rodriguez had a hidden stash of explicit images of women athletes.

B-Team co-founder Craig Jones announced Rodriguez’s departure in a statement on social media, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to providing a safe training environment. ‘B-Team is a safe training place for all and we have a zero-tolerance policy for anyone breaching that trust,’ Jones wrote.

In response to the allegations, Rodriguez admitted he had engaged in unhealthy interactions with female training partners and acknowledged his struggles with a porn addiction. In a video message, he stated, ‘You may have heard that I have been banned from B-Team… and this is true. I’ve had some unhealthy interactions with women in the gym, and I am seeking help through therapy.’ Rodriguez has also been building his relationship with his faith and working towards self-improvement.

Additionally, he publicly apologized to the women involved, saying, ‘I recognize the harm I’ve caused and take full accountability. To those individuals, I am truly sorry.’ He urged the public to respect their privacy and not attempt to contact them.

Despite Rodriguez’s departure, Jones reassured fans that B-Team would remain competitive at the upcoming CJI 2 event. PGF silver medalist Chris Wojcik will take over the 88 kg slot left vacant by Rodriguez, indicating that the team remains focused on success.

Rodriguez had recently lost his third consecutive match and was notably absent from the CJI 2 lineup, which had raised some eyebrows. The recent events offer context to his removal from the team.

As B-Team prepares for CJI 2, the organization aims to foster a respectful training environment while remaining competitive in the sport.
