Jelly Roll Cma Awards Performance 2024

Nashville, Tennessee — The CMA Awards on November 14, 2024, showcased memorable performances and heartfelt tributes. The evening culminated in a poignant moment when Jelly Roll joined the legendary duo Brooks & Dunn on stage to perform their powerful song, ‘Believe.’

Writing credits for ‘Believe’ go to Ronnie Dunn and hit songwriter Craig Wiseman. The song, featured on the duo’s 2005 album ‘Hillbilly Deluxe,’ captivated the audience with its uplifting message. Jelly Roll’s collaboration on a new version for Brooks & Dunn’s ‘Reboot II’ album, released last year, marked a significant moment for both artists. By the performance’s end, the crowd was on its feet, visibly emotional as many wiped away tears.

One fan expressed their admiration, saying the collaboration was possibly ‘the most moving music collaboration I’ve ever heard. The Holy Spirit was in the midst of that performance.’

Jelly Roll had no idea that this performance would open doors for him. Following his rendition, Christian singer Brandon Lake reached out, inviting Jelly Roll to collaborate on a new version of his upcoming song. Lake described Jelly Roll’s enthusiasm, saying, ‘He was paying attention… and we were all in for the collaboration.’

Despite his rough past and tattoos, Jelly Roll embraced the opportunity, stating, ‘I’m honored that I was the call. I’m a Brandon Lake fan… What he’s doing for Christian music is groundbreaking.’

‘Hard Fought Hallelujah,’ co-written by Jelly Roll, earned him his first nomination for Song of the Year at the CMA Awards. Tonight, he hopes to take home another trophy as he is also nominated for Musical Event of the Year, again with ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah.’
