Jennifer Tilly Real Housewives Beverly Hills Interview

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Jennifer Tilly, the Oscar-nominated actress and star of Bravo‘s *The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills*, is setting the record straight about her wealth following revelations about her divorce settlement from *The Simpsons* co-creator Sam Simon.

In an exclusive interview with E! News, Tilly expressed surprise at the public’s fascination with her finances. “I’m astonished,” she said. “Number one, I don’t think of myself as rich. But I guess I’m delusional because I do have several properties and a purse apparently that cost $33,000.”

Tilly, 66, clarified that her wealth stems in part from residuals she still receives from *The Simpsons*, thanks to her ex-husband Simon, who died in 2015. The couple divorced in 1991 after six years of marriage. “I thought everybody knew that I had a piece of *The Simpsons*,” she said. “It’s not a large piece, but even a little piece is something to write home about.”

Despite owning four homes—including properties in Las Vegas, Malibu, and Bel-Air—Tilly insists she lives modestly. “My boyfriend and I live very simply in a very small, cluttered house,” she said. “Yes, there’s a giant house next door, but we don’t go there. I guess we’re kind of delusional. I don’t have a giant mansion or a chauffeur that calls me Miss Tilly.”

The actress, known for her role in the *Chucky* franchise, also addressed the public’s reaction to her lifestyle, which was highlighted in a recent episode of *RHOBH*. “People thought that was fabulous,” she said. “They were like, ‘She has a house next door to her house and she bought a $4,000 dress for her doll.’ They’re like ‘high five.’ I thought people would be like, ‘That’s horrible that she spent that much money for a dress for her doll when people are hungry.'”

Tilly believes the appeal of *The Real Housewives* lies in its portrayal of wealth and its limitations. “This is why people love Housewives,” she said. “They’re so rich and they can afford all the plastic surgery that the heart could desire and designer clothes and jewels, but they’re still not happy. That is the key to Housewives.”

She also clarified the price of a Louis Vuitton boat purse she showcased on the show, which was initially reported to cost $33,000. “Actually, it didn’t cost $33,000, which I’m just setting that straight right now,” Tilly said. “It’s very rare, maybe on the secondary market they jacked up the price, but I called my purse contact and I said, ‘How much did I pay for that purse?’ She said, ‘$22,000.'”

*The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills* airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
