LOS ANGELES, CAJensen Ackles, best known for his role as Dean Winchester on the long-running series Supernatural, is set to star in a new series on Prime Video titled Countdown. The show, co-starring Jessica Camacho, follows LAPD Detective Mark Meachum, who is enlisted in a covert task force comprising undercover agents from various law enforcement agencies.

Countdown is created by Eric Kripke, who also developed Supernatural, ensuring a familiar touch for fans of Ackles’ previous work. The series premieres on June 25, and Ackles took to Instagram to share the full trailer, which has ignited excitement among his former co-stars from Supernatural.

“Set your clocks,” Ackles wrote in his post, signaling a countdown to the show’s launch. In the trailer, viewers can spot Camacho’s character, who seems to play a significant role alongside Ackles, showcasing her dynamic presence within the story.

The trailer has garnered enthusiastic feedback from Ackles’ Supernatural castmates, creating a wave of positivity across social media. Kathryn Newton, who portrayed Claire Novak on the CW series, and Danneel Ackles, Jensen’s wife and a former Supernatural actor, both took a moment to express their appreciation.

Timothy Omundson, known for his role as Cain in Supernatural, was also quick to support the trailer. His enthusiastic comment, written entirely in caps-lock, underlines the excitement surrounding the project. Fans of Ackles and Supernatural are eager to see how his new character develops, especially as Countdown promises high stakes typical of Kripke’s work.

As fans await the premiere, they are reminded of the 15-season journey of Supernatural, which is now available for streaming, offering plenty of content to tide them over until Countdown debuts.
