Kendra Scott Thanksgiving Family Celebration

AUSTIN, Texas — Jewelry designer Kendra Scott is looking forward to her first Thanksgiving as an engaged couple with country star Zac Brown. The holiday is a special time for the couple as they plan to gather their blended family for a massive celebration at Scott’s ranch.

Scott, 51, praised Brown’s cooking skills, saying, “Zac is an incredible cook. He’s next level.” Their son Cade, 24, also contributes to holiday meal preparations, creating a culinary team within the family. Scott joked, “I just take orders, like a sous chef. I’ll cut vegetables, or whatever they tell me to do.”

All eight of their children will join them this Thanksgiving, making it a lively affair. Scott commented, “We’re going to have about 25 people between friends, and then Zac and I have eight kids between us. We’re like the Brady Bunch — four girls and four boys.” Scott’s sons include Beck, 21, and Grey, 12, while Brown has daughters Justice, 18, Lucy, 17, Georgia, 15, Joni, 14, and son Alexander, 11.

Leading up to the holiday, Scott is busy traveling and managing retail operations. “We opened 25 stores this year,” she said, emphasizing the importance of connecting with her employees and customers during this busy season, likening it to a Super Bowl for her business.

In addition to her retail commitments, Scott engages in philanthropic efforts through the Kendra Scott Foundation. Recently, she partnered with singer Ciara to donate a Yellow Library to PS 161 Pedro Albizu in Morningside Heights, Manhattan. These mini libraries contain books that inspire children from diverse backgrounds, aiming to encourage literacy.

Scott explained, “I just saw this was a need. We also have so many children in Texas that are Spanish speaking, and they didn’t have books in their libraries that they could relate to.” She hopes these libraries will provide accessible stories that celebrate the children’s backgrounds.

Ciara joined Scott in this effort, reading from her children’s book “Why Not You.” Both women emphasized the significance of representation in literature. Ciara stated, “I think kids also need to have examples of people finding success,” urging the importance of perseverance and belief in oneself.

Scott believes giving back has a reciprocal effect, saying, “It gives me so much fuel in my tank” to see their philanthropic efforts make a difference. Both Scott and Ciara hope to inspire children to pursue their dreams, reminding them of the power of support from role models.

As they prepare for the holiday season, Scott and Brown are not only excited for family traditions but also for the opportunity to contribute positively to their communities.
