Jimmy Hart Wwe Theme Song

Los Angeles, California – WWE legend Jimmy Hart disclosed a surprising detail about Shawn Michaels‘ famous entrance theme, “Sexy Boy.” In a recent video on WWE’s YouTube channel, The Vault, Hart revealed he provided the female backup vocals when Sherri Martel was unavailable.

The theme, primarily sung by Martel in the early 1990s, took on a different form when she took a break from WWE. Hart, stepping in during her absence, layered his voice multiple times, giving the illusion of several female voices singing backup. “Shawn loved the song. Shawn sang the song too,” Hart explained. “But when Sherri was away, I sang the backup vocals, and we doubled it five times to make it sound like three or four girls going, ‘sexy boy,’” he said.

This revelation sheds light on the creative process behind one of WWE’s most iconic themes, which has accompanied Michaels for over thirty years. Nowadays, Michaels remains a significant influence in the wrestling community, inspiring current superstars like Seth Rollins.

Rollins pointed out that while he was originally captivated by Hulk Hogan, it was Michaels’ charisma and style that helped him understand that he could find success in wrestling without fitting into the stereotype of a giant. “Shawn Michaels is the guy,” he said.

Michaels, a WWE Hall of Famer and currently a Senior Vice President of Talent Development, also commented on John Cena’s ongoing retirement tour. He supports Cena’s choices regarding his farewell matches, stating, “He’s earned the right to call those shots. I’m just a fan now, enjoying what John’s doing.” Michaels, known for legendary bouts, humorously noted, “I have plenty of room for more honors” in the Hall of Fame.

Hart’s admission about singing backup vocals adds a fascinating twist to the legacy of “Sexy Boy,” reinforcing Shawn Michaels’ lasting impact on wrestling.
