Jin Billboard Charts Music Performance

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 10, 2025 — South Korean artist Jin has made a notable return to the Billboard charts this week, with his new single “Close to You” debuting at No. 9 on the Digital Song Sales chart. This marks Jin’s sixth solo top-10 appearance, allowing him to surpass the popular girl group Blackpink in total top-10 entries.

Jin’s latest success stems from impressive sales figures, with “Close to You” selling just under 3,000 copies in its debut tracking frame, according to data from Luminate. This strong performance contributed to Jin also reaching the top spot on the World Digital Song Sales chart, marking his seventh No. 1 in that category.

Prior to this release, Jin was tied with Blackpink, each holding five top-10 entries on the Digital Song Sales chart. As a result of this latest achievement, Jin now stands alongside BTS members who dominate this chart. BTS has an extraordinary total of 36 top-10 hits, with Jin now positioned just behind fellow member Jung Kook, who holds 14 top-10 placements as a solo artist.

Among other BTS members, Jimin and Suga, known for his solo work as Agust D, are tied for third place among K-pop artists with nine top-10 hits each. J-Hope closely follows with eight, while RM and V each have seven top-10 placements, one ahead of Jin.

The competitive landscape of K-pop is evident in the success of its artists on major music charts. With Jin’s recent achievement, he exemplifies the growing influence of South Korean artists on the global music scene.
