Joe Alwyn Late Night With Seth Meyers 2025

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Actor Joe Alwyn made his first late-night talk show appearance on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, promoting his latest film, ‘The Brutalist,’ now in select theaters. The 33-year-old star appeared on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers,’ where he discussed his role in the film and shared a lighthearted exchange with the host.

‘The Brutalist,’ directed by Brady Corbet, tells the story of Hungarian Jewish architect László Tót, played by Adrien Brody, who survives the Holocaust and relocates to America to rebuild his life. Alwyn portrays Harry Lee Van Buren, the entitled and troubled son of a wealthy industrialist family that commissions Tót to build a monument. “He’s slimy and entitled and a bit of a menace and has some daddy issues,” Alwyn said of his character during the interview.

Meyers, 51, noted that it was Alwyn’s first time on a late-night show and asked how he was feeling. “Awful,” Alwyn joked, prompting laughter from the audience before adding, “No, it’s great. I’m joking.” Despite his apparent nerves, fans praised his debut in the comments section of the show’s social media posts.

The film marks Alwyn’s latest project following his role in the 2024 release ‘Kinds of Kindness.’ A year after his high-profile breakup with singer Taylor Swift, Alwyn has been splitting his time between London and New York City, according to a source close to the actor. Speaking about his approach to fame, Alwyn told a publication earlier this month, “If you let all of that other stuff in, and if it starts to affect you and your behavior, you’re living from the outside in. And then you’re pretty f——.”

‘The Brutalist’ also stars Adrien Brody and is currently playing in select theaters. Alwyn’s appearance on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers‘ highlights his growing presence in Hollywood as he continues to take on diverse and challenging roles.
