John Wick 5 Film Teaser

LOS ANGELES, CA — Director Chad Stahelski has promised that the upcoming fifth installment of the “John Wick” franchise will be “really different” from its predecessors. In a recent discussion with Empire, Stahelski explained that the conclusion of the High Table storyline necessitates a new direction for the series.

“The saga of John Wick was pretty wrapped up,” Stahelski said. “So the only way to do a [fifth film] is to have a new story that involves John Wick. It’s not a continuation with the High Table. John dealt with his grief. It will be really different, and everybody [will] see the trailer and go, ‘Holy fuck… I gotta see that.'”

While fans await the release of “John Wick 5,” there are other projects set in the Wick-verse to keep them entertained. A new film titled “Ballerina,” set to debut on June 6, stars Ana de Armas as an assassin seeking revenge for her father’s death. The film follows the events of “John Wick: Chapter 3.”

Additionally, there is an animated prequel about Wick’s exit from the world of assassination and a TV series titled “Under the High Table”. Stahelski noted that these projects will play significant roles in building up the narrative for “John Wick 5.”

“The John Wick TV show and the animation are big priorities,” Stahelski said. “Our idea is to try some things and explore some threads and use those two properties to catapult us forward into the ideas for ‘John 5.'”
