Jonathan David Lille Juventus Transfer News

Canadian striker Jonathan David is at the center of intense transfer speculation as his contract with Lille OSC nears its expiration in June 2025. With just eight months remaining on his current deal, David has become a highly coveted target for several top European clubs, including Juventus, Inter Milan, and Barcelona.

Lille OSC is making a last-ditch effort to secure David’s future, with President Olivier Létang confirming that the club has offered David a contract renewal. Létang emphasized that discussions with David are ongoing and that the player has expressed his affection for Lille, but the outcome remains uncertain.

Juventus, in particular, has intensified its pursuit of David, aiming to sign him as a free agent when his contract expires. David’s entourage has outlined specific conditions for the move, including a net salary of €5 million per season and a commission of up to €8 million. These demands, while significant, are seen as more manageable than the substantial transfer fee that would be required if David were still under contract.

David’s impressive form this season, with 12 goals across all competitions, has heightened interest from multiple clubs. Inter Milan has already initiated preliminary talks with David’s representatives, while Newcastle and Barcelona are also monitoring the situation closely.

The upcoming Champions League match between Lille and Juventus will be particularly significant, as it will provide another opportunity for Juventus to assess David’s performance firsthand. Lille President Olivier Létang has stressed the importance of a ‘perfect performance’ from his team to secure a result against the Serie A giants.

David’s potential move to Juventus could significantly bolster the club’s attacking options, providing competition for the starting striker role and offering an alternative to Dusan Vlahovic, especially given Arkadiusz Milik’s ongoing injury struggles.
