In the aftermath of a transformative summer for Juventus, marked by significant changes in team composition, Director Cristiano Giuntoli is focusing on securing key players with new contracts. Federico Gatti is one such player set to receive a contract extension, underscoring his pivotal role in the club’s future vision under new manager Thiago Motta.

Federico Gatti, who arrived at Juventus in the summer of 2022 from Frosinone, has swiftly established himself as a foundational player in the defense. This progression began under previous manager Max Allegri and has continued with Thiago Motta. Gatti’s current deal is set to expire in 2028, but Juventus is preparing to extend this by another year, elevating his salary from the current 1.5 million euros to over 2 million annually.

This strategic move is a part of Giuntoli’s broader plan, coinciding with ongoing efforts to reinforce the squad ahead of the January transfer market. Juventus is currently dealing with several challenges, including an injury to central defender Gleison Bremer and the absence of Arkadiusz Milik. As a result, the club is actively looking at potential signings, including a deputy for striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Reportedly, Vlahovic’s future is also under negotiation as Giuntoli seeks to extend his contract beyond its current terms. As the highest-paid player in Italy’s Serie A, with compensation surpassing that of Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez, Vlahovic’s revised deal is complex. Nevertheless, Giuntoli has publicly affirmed the club’s commitment to retaining Vlahovic, expressing confidence in reaching an agreement with his agent, Darko Ristic.

Among other players, contract extensions are in progress for goalkeeper Mattia Perin, aiming to extend his stay until 2026, with an option for an additional year. This comes alongside a recently finalized deal for third-choice goalkeeper Carlo Pinsoglio, reflecting Juventus’s proactive approach in squad management.

Besides planning for player renewals, Juventus is scouting potential talents to bolster the squad. The scouting efforts are currently focused on the France Under-21 team, where prospects like Rennes forward Arnaud Kalimuendo have caught the club’s interest. With limited slots for non-European players, any acquisitions will need careful consideration, especially regarding the current regulatory constraints.
