Kari Lake Trails in Arizona Senate Polls as Election Nears
With just 12 days left until the U.S. presidential election, the Arizona Senate race is also heating up, with Republican candidate Kari Lake facing significant challenges in the polls. According to the latest polling data, Lake is trailing behind her Democratic opponent, Ruben Gallego.
A recent Marist Poll conducted from October 17 to October 22, 2024, indicates that Gallego leads Lake by 8 points among likely voters in Arizona. The poll shows Gallego with 53% support, while Lake has 45%.
Other polls also reflect a similar trend. A poll by The Telegraph from October 6-15, 2024, shows Gallego leading Lake by 12 points, with 52% support for Gallego and 40% for Lake.
The polling data suggests that while Lake has significant support, particularly among certain Republican constituencies, Gallego’s lead is consistent across multiple surveys. This gap is partly attributed to Gallego’s stronger support among his base, with 82% of his supporters firmly committed to him, compared to 72% for Lake’s supporters.
Lake’s unfavorable ratings also play a role, with 53% of Arizona residents having an unfavorable impression of her, compared to 37% who view her favorably.
