Dashawn Keirsey Jr. Minnesota Twins Game Winning Hit

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota — DaShawn Keirsey Jr. hit a game-winning single down the left-field line on Sunday, leading the Minnesota Twins to a 7-6 victory over the San Francisco Giants in 10 innings. The thrilling finish marked the Twins’ eighth consecutive win.

In the bottom of the 10th, the Twins faced a slight setback when the Giants scored one run, placing the automatic runner at third. However, Keirsey Jr.’s hit brought in Brooks Lee, who had reached third base on Lee’s single, giving the Twins the win.

Brooks Lee had a standout performance, finishing the game with three hits, including a home run and driving in two runs. Heliot Ramos led the Giants with a two-run homer and four RBIs, but it wasn’t enough to avoid being swept in the three-game series.

The game started with an early lead for the Giants, as Mike Yastrzemski led off with a single, advanced on a hit by Jung Hoo Lee, and scored on a sacrifice fly from Ramos. Ramos later added a two-run homer in the fourth, extending the Giants’ lead to 3-0. The Twins eventually cut the Giants’ lead, tying the game at 5-5 by capitalizing in the eighth inning.

Twins starter Pablo López left the game after six strong innings, allowing four runs on five hits. Jhoan Duran earned the win after pitching a challenging 10th inning and allowing only one unearned run.

Giants pitcher Ryan Walker took the loss after giving up two runs, one earned, in the bottom of the 10th. He struggled after the Twins recorded a similar comeback sequence.

The Twins are set to start a three-game series against Baltimore on Tuesday, while the Giants will head home for a series against the Diamondbacks starting Monday.
