Kenshi Yonezu Announces First-Ever International Tour Dates
Kenshi Yonezu, a renowned Japanese hitmaker and singer-songwriter, has announced his first performances in the United States, South Korea, and Europe, marking a significant milestone in his career. These concerts will be organized by Live Nation, a prominent concert production company.
Following the success of his 20-date tour across Japan, Shanghai, and Taipei, Yonezu will continue his musical journey with two concerts in Seoul at the INSPIRE Arena on March 22 and March 23. He will then proceed to Europe, performing at London’s Eventim Apollo on March 30 and Paris’ Zenith on April 1. The U.S. leg includes performances at New York’s iconic Radio City Music Hall on April 4 and Los Angeles’ YouTube Theater on April 6.
Yonezu has become well-known for his unique style, which fuses J-pop with electronic and rock music elements. His notable works include “Kick Back,” the opening theme for the anime series “Chainsaw Man,” which made history as the first Japanese-language song to achieve RIAA Gold certification. Additionally, “Chikyuugi – Spinning Globe,” which served as the theme song for Studio Ghibli’s “The Boy and the Heron,” won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
His latest album, “LOST CORNER,” has been highly successful, appearing on three Billboard US charts and reaching number 7 on Spotify’s global weekly Top Albums list. Among his recent projects, Yonezu’s “Azalea” has been announced as the theme song for the globally anticipated Netflix series “Beyond Goodbye.” The series will be available for streaming on November 14, 2024.
Amidst his musical achievements, Yonezu has collaborated with Uniqlo on a line of graphic tees as part of their UT series, celebrating global pop culture. The collection launched in stores on September 23.
The announcement of his international tour has generated significant interest, with ticket presales starting on October 9 for Europe and October 14 for South Korea. The U.S. general sales will begin on October 11. Fans can purchase tickets through Live Nation’s website.
Born as Hachi before shifting to perform under his real name in 2012, Yonezu has consistently garnered attention not only through his music but also through his visual artistry in album covers and music videos. His hit “Lemon” is the most-viewed music video in Japan, substantiating his influential presence in the music industry.
