Hyeseong Kim And Jung Hoo Lee Baseball Game

LOS ANGELES, CA — In a notable moment for South Korean baseball, Hyeseong Kim of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Jung Hoo Lee of the San Francisco Giants faced each other in a major league game for the first time on Saturday night. The two players, who were former teammates on the Kiwoom Heroes in the KBO from 2017-2023, shared a special bond on the field.

“It’s going to be very special,” Kim said before the game. “We were drafted together, we’ve played together, but now we’re facing each other in the big leagues. It’s special that we’re in the same division. It’s going to be very exciting.”

During Saturday’s game, Kim contributed with an RBI single, while Lee managed to get on base with a walk. Their matchup marks a significant moment in their careers, illustrating the growing presence of South Korean players in Major League Baseball.

On another note, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts addressed the possibility of pitcher Emmet Sheehan returning soon. He confirmed that Sheehan will start one of the upcoming games against the Padres, although the specific date is yet to be announced. Sheehan had a successful stint in the minors, posting a 3.97 ERA with a remarkable strikeout rate.

<p“This year and last year, the team being so good, I just wanted to be able to contribute and do my part,” Sheehan said in the locker room. “It did suck, but now it’s nice to be at the end of the process.”

In light of the recent protests in Los Angeles, Dodgers player Kiké Hernández expressed his feelings about the community’s struggles. “I may not be Born & Raised, but this city adopted me as one of their own,” Hernández stated. “I cannot stand to see our community being violated, profiled, abused and ripped apart. ALL people deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and human rights.”

Looking ahead, the Dodgers are set to play the Giants again on Sunday night, continuing what is shaping up to be an exciting series.
