Krispy Kreme and McDonald’s Partner to Offer Free Doughnuts and Expanded Menu
In a significant move to expand their market reach, Krispy Kreme and McDonald's have announced a partnership that will bring Krispy Kreme doughnuts to McDonald’s restaurants nationwide. To celebrate this collaboration, participating Krispy Kreme locations are offering a free Original Glazed doughnut to customers who show a McDonald’s receipt dated between October 10 and 14.
The partnership, which was first unveiled in March, involves a phased market rollout. Starting October 15, Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be available at McDonald’s locations in the Chicago area, with plans to expand to over 1,000 McDonald’s restaurants by the end of 2024 and to 12,000 locations by the end of 2026.
The doughnut varieties that will be available at McDonald’s include the Original Glazed Doughnut, Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles Doughnut, and the Chocolate Iced Kreme Filled Doughnut. These will be available for purchase individually or in packs of six.
This initiative follows a successful pilot test conducted at 160 McDonald’s restaurants in the Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky areas last year. The positive feedback from this test has encouraged the companies to proceed with the nationwide rollout.
Krispy Kreme’s president and CEO, Josh Charlesworth, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating that it addresses the top request from consumers for more access to their fresh doughnuts. This collaboration is seen as a win for both companies, enhancing the dining experience for their customers.
