Renowned kwaito artist Mzambiya, born Nkosinathi Mzambiya Zwane, has formally announced his departure from the music industry to explore new career opportunities. The musician, who gained fame as one of the youngest stars in the kwaito genre in the early 2000s, has decided to resign from his role as a recording artist at the age of 37. “Dearest supporters, I’m writing to formally resign from my position as a recording artist after much consideration. I’ve decided to take a different direction in my career and pursue new opportunities,” stated Mzambiya in his official announcement.

Originating from Zola, Soweto, Mzambiya captivated audiences with hits such as “Ghetto Luv” and “Bowungakanani,” earning his place as a transformative figure in the South African music scene. He launched his musical journey at the age of six and quickly rose to profound success, becoming the first child artist in his area to achieve platinum sales. Mzambiya collaborated with several prominent artists, including the late Mshoza, real name Nomasonto Maswanganyi, with whom he released the hit “Kortes” in 2003.

Despite stepping away from performing, Mzambiya remains passionate about the music industry. He plans to channel his energies into nurturing emerging talent through his record label, Earth Nurture Records. “Earth Nurture Records continues unearthing new talent across the country and the world. They will also release music as they promised their supporters,” he affirmed.

Mzambiya expressed his gratitude to fans, noting the impact of their support throughout his career, which began in 2000. “I’m truly grateful for all the love since my debut,” he commented, reflecting on his experiences and growth within the entertainment sector.

The artist also announced his intention to explore television presenting and acting, thus remaining an influential figure behind the scenes. His decision has surprised many in the entertainment community, marking the end of an era for a star who was so influential during his time.
