LAFC Midfielder Mateusz Bogusz Named MLS Player of the Month for June 2024
LAFC midfielder Mateusz Bogusz has claimed the prestigious title of MLS Player of the Month for June 2024, solidifying his reputation as a standout talent in Major League Soccer.
Bogusz was instrumental in LAFC’s unbeaten streak throughout June, contributing goals and assists in all five matches played during the month, with a total of nine goal contributions, including six goals and three assists.
The promising 22-year-old capped off his outstanding month with a memorable first-career MLS hat trick in a dominating 3-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids on June 29.
Having an exceptional season, Bogusz has accumulated a total of 12 goals, with four of them being match-winners, along with five assists in 20 matches for LAFC.
Notably, he holds the joint-longest goal contribution streak in MLS this season with nine goals and four assists in just nine matches, further establishing his impact on the team’s success.
As the fourth LAFC player to earn the Player of the Month accolade, Bogusz joins the ranks of Denis Bouanga, Adama Diomande, and Carlos Vela, further highlighting his rising star status in the league.
Currently leading the Western Conference with 40 points in their season record of 12 wins, 4 losses, and 4 draws, LAFC is set to face off against local rivals, the LA Galaxy, in the upcoming El Tráfico match on Thursday night at the iconic Rose Bowl.
