Landman Returns for Season Two with New Cast and Storylines
HOLLYWOOD, CA — The highly anticipated second season of the hit series Landman premiered on November 16, 2025. Co-creator Wallace explains that the story is just beginning to unfold. “We barely skimmed the surface in season one,” he shared with The Hollywood Reporter. He emphasized that the oil boom drama allows for rich storytelling, especially in the West Texas setting.
The show, which stars Billy Bob Thornton, has become the most-watched original series for Paramount+. Wallace noted that instead of succumbing to pressure, the team focused on further developing characters and complex storylines for the second season.
This season introduces Sam Elliott, who plays T.L., the father of Thornton’s character, Tommy. Wallace expressed excitement about adding Elliott to the ensemble, highlighting the chemistry and talent in the cast.
When asked about the pressure to meet the success of season one, Thornton acknowledged the inherent challenges. “Anytime you have a success, there’s always pressure to make sure that it continues,” he stated. Thornton’s TV daughter, Michelle Randolph, who portrays Ainsley, agrees that there are endless stories to explore, citing the numerous opportunities for character growth in the show.
The season two premiere features a business luncheon where Cami Miller, played by Demi Moore, faces challenges in her new role following the loss of her partner, Monty. Wallace teased her journey, noting, “She is now swimming with the sharks.” This conflict will challenge Cami to navigate her authority and trust her instincts.
Wallace also discussed the show’s blend of drama and humor, particularly through the characters Angela and Ainsley, played by Ali Larter and Michelle Randolph. Their over-the-top personalities provide levity amid the serious themes in the oil industry plot.
The looming financial stakes and family dynamics promise a season filled with tension. Wallace expressed hope for a third season, stating the desire to continue as long as the storytelling remains worthwhile.
The first episode of Landman season two is now streaming on Paramount+, with new episodes released weekly on Sundays.
