Landman Season 2 Cast Filming Texas

AUSTIN, Texas — Production for Season 2 of the hit Paramount+ series Landman has officially commenced as of April 2, 2025, following a stunning conclusion to the first season. The finale, which aired on January 12, left audiences in shock with unexpected plot twists, including the death of a key character and the introduction of a crucial new role.

In the series, Tommy Norris, portrayed by Billy Bob Thornton, must navigate a precarious situation after the death of his boss, Monty Miller, from a heart attack. As the new president of M-Tex Oil, Tommy faces daunting challenges, including finalizing negotiations on a potentially disastrous exploratory drilling deal and managing his complex relationship with Rebecca, his untrustworthy lawyer.

“There’s a lot on Tommy’s plate,” said Thornton in a recent interview. “He’s juggling family responsibilities, cartel dealings, and the oil business, which makes for an explosive combination.”

The conclusion of Season 1 saw Tommy teaming up with cartel leader Galino, played by Andy Garcia, who aims to integrate into the oil industry. “Working alongside Galino will certainly complicate things for Tommy,” co-creator Christian Wallace noted. “We hope to explore this dynamic further in the upcoming season.”

Filming for Season 2 was confirmed by Paramount+, along with a photo of Thornton on set with a script. “We’re excited to bring back the drama, the characters, and all the intrigue that comes with the oil business in Texas,” said a network representative. Fans will find it hard to forget the emotional intersections the characters experienced in the first season, particularly between Tommy, his ex-wife Angela played by Ali Larter, and their children Ainsley and Cooper.

Demi Moore, who plays Cami Miller, is also set to return. She expressed her enthusiasm for the new season, stating, “I can’t wait to dive deeper into Cami’s storyline. There’s so much left to explore for her character.”

While Jon Hamm will not reprise his role as Monty, due to the character’s demise, fans can expect the return of other key players. Cast members Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, and Kayla Wallace are all confirmed to reprise their roles for the next season.

Previous reports indicate that filming aligns with a tentative schedule hinted by Thornton in August 2024. The actor suggested filming may wrap up between February and March 2025, depending on various production factors.

Wallace mentioned that the sibling dynamic between Ainsley and Cooper will likely evolve further, stating, “Their relationship has plenty of room to grow, with their individual struggles intertwining as the plot thickens.”

As the storyline unfolds, fans can anticipate not only high-stakes drama inherent in the oil industry but also rich character development that embodies the hardships and triumphs of life in Texas. The anticipation surrounding Landman Season 2 continues to build as fans remain eager to see how the characters progress and cope with their challenges.

For now, audiences can catch up on the first season of Landman streaming on Paramount+, setting the stage for the powerful storytelling to come.
