Las Vegas Aces Celebrate A’One Night Featuring A’ja Wilson’s New Shoe

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (May 5, 2025) — The Las Vegas Aces will conclude their 2025 preseason on Tuesday, May 6, with a special event called A’One Night against the Phoenix Mercury. The game will take place at Michelob ULTRA Arena, starting at 7 p.m. PT, and will be broadcasted locally on Vegas 34.

The highlight of the evening will be the launch of A'ja Wilson’s new Nike “Pink A’ura” A’One shoe. The first 8,000 fans to arrive will receive a free A’One t-shirt. Additional festivities will include a photo opportunity featuring the A’One/Nike theme, a cheer sign station, and giveaways, including A’One towels and shoelery for the first 500 fans wearing A’One shoes.

The Las Vegas Aces enter this game following a successful matchup against the Dallas Wings at Notre Dame on May 2, where Jackie Young led the scoring with 28 points. Wilson contributed 19 points, while rookie Aaliyah Nye added 17 points. The Aces dominated the rebounding game, with a 40-28 advantage.

The Mercury, now without all-time great Diana Taurasi who retired after last season, have made significant roster changes, including the signings of Satou Sabally, Alyssa Thomas, Kalani Brown, and Sami Whitcomb. Phoenix finished the 2024 regular season in seventh place with a 19-21 record.

This matchup is especially meaningful for A’ja Wilson, who expressed her excitement about debuting her shoe, stating, “I wanted to make sure it was the perfect time, so to see [my teammates] rocking them is truly special.” Aces head coach Becky Hammon echoed Wilson’s sentiments, praising Wilson’s efforts to keep family close in the promotion.

The Aces will begin the 2025 regular season on the road against New York on Saturday, May 17, at 10 a.m. PT, which will also be televised on ABC.
