Jarell Quansah, the promising 21-year-old centre-back, has secured his future at Liverpool FC by signing a new long-term contract. Quansah, who has been with Liverpool’s Academy since the age of five, expressed his excitement over the new deal at the AXA Training Centre. Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, he stated, “I couldn’t be happier at this minute.”

Quansah credited the club’s new manager and his coaching style as significant factors in his decision to stay. “I think it is the best club in the world for me to develop at and become a better player,” Quansah added, highlighting the quality of players around him as influential in his growth.

Having progressed through Liverpool’s youth ranks, Quansah gained substantial experience on loan with Bristol Rovers in 2022-23. He notably impressed after making his debut as a substitute during an away win over Newcastle United in August 2023, ending the 2023-24 season with 33 appearances and a Carabao Cup winner’s medal.

Quansah’s international career is also gaining momentum. He debuted for England U21s and was included in the senior national team’s provisional squad for Euro 2024. He is determined to maintain his rapid development, saying, “I just want to take each step as it comes, every training session as it comes.”

In related news, Liverpool FC has initiated preliminary talks with Ibrahima Konate concerning a new contract. Sources inform Football Insider that the club is eager to extend Konate’s contract, which currently expires in the summer of 2026.

Konate, who initially found himself out of favor towards the end of Jurgen Klopp‘s era, has regained his position. Arne Slot selected Jarell Quansah ahead of Konate for the season opener against Ipswich, but the French international has since established himself alongside Virgil van Dijk in the centre-back pairing.

Konate has been instrumental in Liverpool’s defensive success, with the team leading the Premier League thanks to a strong defensive record. He boasts a tackle success rate of 63%, with 24 clearances and 36 duels won so far this season.
