ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The St. Louis Blues are set to receive a significant boost as forward Robert Thomas returns from injury on Monday night. Thomas, who has been sidelined since October 25 due to an upper-body injury, will rejoin the lineup as the Blues take on the Edmonton Oilers at Enterprise Center at 7:30 p.m.

After missing four games, Thomas’s return comes at a crucial time for the Blues, who are currently in the midst of a seven-game winless streak. “We’ve got our No. 1 center back, so it’s a big boost,” head coach Jim Montgomery said. “Everyone gets deployed appropriately with the minutes and especially match-ups as well, especially when you’re at home.”

In tonight’s matchup, Thomas will be back on the first line, playing alongside Pavel Buchnevich and Jimmy Snuggerud. “If you continue to build your game the results will come eventually. That’s why I’m excited to come back and hopefully help our team get a big win,” said Thomas.

The projected lineup for the Blues includes Thomas, Buchnevich, and Snuggerud on the first line, while Brayden Schenn, Pius Suter, and Jordan Kyrou will make up the second line. Dylan Holloway, Dalibor Dvorsky, and Oskar Sundqvist will play together on the third line, while Alexey Toropchenko, Nick Bjugstad, and Mathieu Joseph will round out the fourth line. The defense will feature Philip Broberg pairing with Colton Parayko, and Cam Fowler alongside Justin Faulk.

In goal, Jordan Binnington is expected to start for the Blues. The Oilers are also dealing with their share of injuries, missing Zach Hyman, Mattias Janmark, Kasperi Kapanen, and Alec Regula. The game is crucial for both teams as they seek to gain momentum moving forward this season.
