Louisville Cardinals to Face Kansas in Upcoming Exhibition Game

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville men’s basketball team is gearing up for a notable exhibition game against the University of Kansas on October 24 at the KFC Yum Center. This marks the unofficial beginning of the 2025-26 season for the Cardinals.
The game will be the first meeting between Louisville and Kansas since 1993, with the Cardinals holding a 5-6 record against the Jayhawks in their all-time series. Tipoff and television details will be released at a later date.
In a recent change approved by the NCAA’s Division I Men’s Basketball Oversight Committee, teams can now play up to two preseason exhibition games against any four-year institution. Previously, these exhibitions required a waiver, and they were often used to support charitable causes.
In addition, Louisville plans to travel to Lawrence for another exhibition game against Kansas, although the date is still to be determined, possibly before the 2026-27 season.
Fans are excited about the upcoming matchup, as it promises to bring a level of enthusiasm rarely seen for an October exhibition. “This will be the most juice Louisville fans have ever had for a late October exhibition game,” said one enthusiastic supporter. As the date approaches, anticipation continues to grow among the Cardinals’ faithful.
