LSU Tigers Dominate Arkansas Razorbacks in SEC Showdown

Baton Rouge, Louisiana – The LSU Tigers took down the Arkansas Razorbacks 13-3 on Saturday, securing their second consecutive win in a three-game SEC series at Alex Box Stadium. The game concluded in the seventh inning due to the SEC’s 10-run rule.
Right fielder Jake Brown shined for the Tigers, hitting two home runs and driving in five runs. Brown’s performance helped LSU build an early lead, as he hit a three-run blast in the first inning and a solo homer in the third. He finished the game with three hits in five at-bats, registering a career-high in RBIs.
“Jake is a great athlete who can excel at many different skills,” said LSU coach Jay Johnson. “He had a great at-bat in that first inning against a really good pitcher. (Arkansas starter Gage Wood) made a mistake, and Jake didn’t miss the pitch.”
LSU pitcher Anthony Eyanson (8-2) delivered a dominant performance on the mound, throwing six shutout innings while allowing five hits, walking one batter, and striking out 11. Johnson praised Eyanson’s competitive spirit and pitch execution.
“A couple of things stand out to me about Anthony,” Johnson said. “He is an intense competitor, so there’s always a way out with him no matter how tough the predicament.”
Arkansas starter Gage Wood (1-1) struggled, giving up four runs on four hits in just two innings, leading to his team’s defeat. The loss dropped Arkansas to a shared record of 40-11 overall and 17-9 in the SEC, matching LSU’s record as they head into the final game of the series.
In addition to Brown’s performance, LSU designated hitter Ethan Frey also made an impact, hitting a three-run homer, marking his 10th of the season, and tying a career high with four RBIs. Catcher Cade Arrambide also contributed with a home run, his fourth of the season.
The two teams will meet again for the series finale on Sunday at 3 p.m. CT, a decisive game that will be broadcast on the LSU Sports Radio Network and the SEC Network. This game will be LSU’s final regular-season home contest of the year.
