Luis Chávez Soccer Player Return To Mexico

CDMX, Mexico – Luis Chávez, a Mexican national team midfielder currently playing for Dinamo Moscow, may be contemplating a return to Liga MX after a lackluster year in Russia.

According to Alex de la Rosa from TUDN, there are reports suggesting that Chávez is considering leaving Europe due to limited playing time, having logged just over 100 minutes in competitive matches this year.

“There are indications that Luis Chávez might think about coming back to Liga MX, not only because he has lost his prominence in the Mexican national team but also due to injury and a suspension of the Russian league during December, January, and February, which has really affected his playtime,” De la Rosa stated.

Chávez, who previously paid a release clause to leave Pachuca for Dinamo Moscow, was subject to interest from various teams, including Feyenoord, before ultimately deciding on the Russian club. However, his current situation stands in stark contrast to his initial prospects as he struggles to find a consistent role on the team.

Sources indicate that Cruz Azul has emerged as a potential suitor for Chávez. With players like Eril Lira and Charly Rodríguez possibly seeking opportunities in Europe, Cruz Azul sees Chávez as a luxury addition that could bolster their squad.

“Cruz Azul’s interest is a positive development, especially given how they are competing in the current Clausura 2025 tournament. Chávez’s presence could significantly impact the team’s performance, especially as they navigate their fight for a playoff spot,” a sports analyst noted.

Chávez, who turned 28 earlier this month, has also expressed the desire to continue his European ambitions but may be forced to reconsider his options if playing time doesn’t improve. Whether he stays in Europe or returns to Liga MX remains to be seen, but both fans and analysts are eager to see how this story unfolds.

As the transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Chávez to see if he makes a decision to remain abroad or return to Mexico for a higher-profile role at Cruz Azul.
