Luke Bryan Shares Hilarious Mix-Up with Blake Shelton on Kimmel Show

Nashville, Tenn. — Country music star Luke Bryan shared a comical encounter with a gas station attendant who mistook him for fellow artist Blake Shelton during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Tuesday night. The 48-year-old singer recounted the incident, which occurred near his home in Nashville.
“One of the attendants that works the cash register mistook me for Blake Shelton. That has been my worst thing in the neighborhood,” Bryan said, eliciting laughter from the audience. The interaction took a humorous turn as the attendant insisted, ‘You’re Blake Shelton. Tell me about being Blake Shelton,’ prompting Bryan’s son, who was present, to comment on the mix-up.
“The guy looked at me and said, ‘You are Blake Shelton’s doppelgänger. Could you imagine what it would be like to have Blake Shelton’s money?'” Bryan recalled, adding, “I said, ‘Oh, what it must be like.'” When Kimmel inquired about their financial statuses, Bryan confidently replied, “Me,” though he later joked about the uncertainty of his wealth compared to Shelton. “Depends on if … Wikipedia is right,” Bryan quipped.
As the conversation continued, Bryan addressed the topic of helicopters, revealing that he does own one, a recent purchase recommended by Shelton. “I do [have a helicopter],” Bryan confirmed. “Only because Blake called me and recommended that I ought to get one.”
In a nod to media buzz surrounding his fellow judge on “American Idol,” Katy Perry, who recently experienced a space flight with Blue Origin, Bryan expressed curiosity about her trip. “It must have been quite the euphoric ride through the cosmos,” he reflected. He humorously commented on Perry’s sentiments after the experience, mentioning, “She’ll have to debrief me on those emotions.”
Bryan also discussed the complexities of possibly venturing into space himself, stating, “Any chance of my leaving the Earth’s atmosphere would be part of a very delicate negotiation. You gotta take that chance,” hinting at the thrill of such an adventure.
Looking ahead, Bryan shared news about his upcoming annual Farm Tour, where he performs on working farms. “It’s become a tradition for me and my family, and we have a good time,” he said, emphasizing the joy of these unique performances.
