TAMPA, Fla. — The San Francisco 49ers are receiving encouraging news ahead of their Week 6 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Quarterback Mac Jones and wide receiver Jauan Jennings, both currently listed as questionable, are expected to take the field this Sunday at Raymond James Stadium, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Jones has battled knee and oblique injuries this week but expressed optimism about his ability to start. He sustained the oblique injury towards the end of last week’s victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Despite his limited participation in practice, he has managed to guide the 49ers through their last three games, all of which resulted in victories, leading the team to a 4-1 start to the season.

“I’m feeling good about this weekend,” Jones said. “I’ve been managing some bumps but I’m ready to go.”

Jennings has also struggled with injuries, dealing with ankle and rib problems. His presence on the field will significantly boost the 49ers’ offense as they prepare to face off against the Buccaneers, who hold a 4-1 record.

In related news, San Francisco’s regular starting quarterback, Brock Purdy, has been ruled out due to a toe injury but may return next week. Additionally, wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, sidelined with a knee injury, is expected to be back for the encounter with the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7.

Jones has completed 66.7 percent of his passes this season for a total of 905 yards, securing six touchdowns against only one interception. His performance has outshined expectations, with some analysts believing the offense performs better with him at the helm.

Kickoff is scheduled for 1 PM ET, and final game statuses for all questionable players will be confirmed 90 minutes before kickoff.
