Machine Gun Kelly Unveils Controversial Blackout Tattoo And Teases New Music Release

Rapper Machine Gun Kelly, aka MGK, caused a stir on social media after revealing a striking blackout tattoo that covers his chest and arms. The tattoo, done by Los Angeles-based artist Roxx, features a solid block of black ink with a cross design on his chest and abdomen.

In an Instagram post, MGK stated that the blackout tattoo was created ‘for spiritual purposes only,’ sparking a debate among fans and critics alike. The rapper thanked Roxx for the intricate design, which required 13 six-hour sessions to complete.

Roxx, known for their blackwork and geometric motifs, shared the tattoo artwork on their own Instagram, describing the collaboration with MGK as ‘art.’ The process of tattooing the blackout design began in mid-December, with more sessions planned to complete the look.

Following the tattoo reveal, MGK announced on Instagram that he would be releasing new music on YouTube. The single, titled ‘dont let me go,’ marks his first music release of 2024 and comes after collaborations with lonelyboy and his 2022 album ‘Mainstream Sellout.’

The blackout tattoo has sparked controversy on social media, with some users criticizing the design as reminiscent of blackface. Others praised MGK’s bold new look, with fans defending his artistic expression and choice to transform his body with the blackout ink.

Despite the backlash, MGK’s loyal fanbase eagerly anticipates the release of his new music. The rapper’s eclectic style and willingness to push boundaries have earned him a dedicated following in the music industry and beyond.
