3.4-Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Manhattan Beach Area

MANHATTAN BEACH, California — A preliminary 3.4-magnitude earthquake shook the Manhattan Beach area on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake occurred at 12:15 p.m., approximately 20 miles from downtown Los Angeles.
Residents reported feeling the tremors, with shaking also noted in nearby cities including Santa Monica, Venice, Inglewood, Redondo Beach, and Torrance. The USGS’ Did You Feel It report indicated these communities experienced noticeable seismic activity.
No injuries or damage were reported immediately following the quake. Authorities have not released further details as they continue to assess the situation.
This earthquake comes as Southern California residents remain alert to seismic activity in the region, which is known for its geological instability.
