Malayalam Actor Siddique News

Actor Siddique has resigned from his position as general secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) amid serious allegations of rape. The allegations stem from an incident involving a young woman who claims that Siddique raped her in 2016.

The woman, who is also an actor, initially made the accusations public in 2019. Following the release of the Hema Committee report, she reiterated her claims, which contributed to Siddique’s decision to step down from his influential role within the film industry.

During an interview, the 28-year-old woman described her first interaction with Siddique, stating he referred to her as ‘moley’ (daughter) when they initially communicated. She alleged that Siddique promised her a film role if she met him in person, leading to a meeting in Thiruvananthapuram, where she claims he assaulted her.

Having remained silent for years, the woman decided to speak out following a high-profile abduction and rape case involving a prominent actress in the Malayalam film industry. She expressed her frustration at the lack of support she received in the past and acknowledged the renewed attention to issues concerning women’s rights in the industry.

She stated that her experience has left her emotionally and physically exhausted, but she has chosen to share her story again in light of the recent developments affecting women in the film community. She believes that Siddique should face significant consequences for his actions and hopes for a long-term ban from the industry.

The woman has also faced online backlash for her allegations but remains determined to stand by her account. Although she has not filed a police complaint at the moment, she is contemplating her options and seeks justice.
