Manuel Neuer Set to Return for Bayern’s Match Against Freiburg
München, Germany – Manuel Neuer, the veteran goalkeeper for Bayern Munich, is likely to play in Saturday’s match against SC Freiburg after recovering from illness. Neuer, 39, joined his teammates for a secret training session on Friday, easing concerns about his availability.
Until Thursday, Neuer missed training due to a stomach flu and cold. Rumors intensified among fans about his readiness to compete against Freiburg, especially after head coach Vincent Kompany expressed uncertainty about his condition. “He was a bit under the weather and couldn’t train, but hopefully, he will be back to normal today,” Kompany said.
Alongside Neuer, the team is keeping an eye on other players. Serge Gnabry, 30, is unlikely to play after experiencing discomfort following his return from the national team. Kompany stated that medical staff would provide updates on his status. Meanwhile, Joshua Kimmich, 30, may also return for the game. Kimmich suffered from a capsule injury while playing for the national team, but Kompany mentioned, “Jo is normally 100 percent fit.”
Fans are hopeful that all key players, including Neuer, will be ready for the match, scheduled for 15:30 CET on Saturday. This matchup comes at an essential time as Bayern looks to maintain momentum in their season.
