Maryland Snow Showers January 2025

BALTIMORE, Md. — Skies are clearing across Maryland after overnight snow showers left a light dusting of snow, with meteorologists warning of slick road conditions and a frigid game night ahead for the Baltimore Ravens. Meteorologist Dalencia Jenkins reported that most areas saw between 1 and 2 inches of snow, with temperatures hovering in the 20s on Saturday morning.

Jenkins noted that while the bulk of the snow showers have moved out of the region, lingering flurries could persist in southern Anne Arundel County. ‘It’s going to be a little slick out there on the roadways,’ Jenkins cautioned, urging drivers to take extra care, especially on back roads and highways where slushy conditions were reported.

Snowfall totals ranged from 1 to 2 inches across the region, with reports of 1.5 inches in Anne Arundel County. The snow, described as light and powdery, is expected to melt slightly as temperatures rise above freezing during the afternoon. However, a refreeze is anticipated overnight, potentially creating icy conditions.

As the Baltimore Ravens prepare to host the Pittsburgh Steelers at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday night, fans are advised to bundle up. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m., with temperatures expected to be in the upper 20s but feeling like 21 degrees due to wind chill. By the end of the game, wind chills could drop into the teens.

Jenkins also highlighted a brief warm-up on Sunday and Monday, with highs reaching the upper 30s and mid-40s, respectively. However, temperatures will dip back into the 30s by Tuesday, with morning lows in the 20s and teens. ‘Slick spots can be a problem as we move throughout the next few days,’ Jenkins warned.

Despite the cold, the Ravens-Steelers game is expected to proceed without weather-related delays, as the snow will have cleared by kickoff. Fans heading to the stadium are encouraged to dress warmly and prepare for the chilly conditions.
