Matt O’Riley Set for Transfer to Brighton
Brighton is reportedly nearing a transfer agreement to sign midfielder Matt O'Riley from Celtic.
The 23-year-old player is expected to join Brighton as the newest recruit in the coming days.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has claimed that a verbal agreement between the clubs is ‘almost done.’
According to Romano, O’Riley will become Brighton’s next signing following the completion of Ferdi Kadioglu‘s transfer, with final details being worked out.
Celtic head coach Brendan Rodgers was quizzed about the interest from Brighton in O’Riley and stated, ‘Matt trained this morning as he always does. He is the consummate professional and has been brilliant.’
Rodgers acknowledged that there have been multiple offers for O’Riley but indicated that no new updates were available at this moment.
When asked if there would be a point when transfer offers would be too late to consider, Rodgers affirmed, ‘Yes. For any player, it is not going to go right down to the wire.’
He emphasized the importance of focusing on their upcoming match against St Mirren and preparing for the next phase of their season.
