Max Homa stole the limelight at the Masters on Friday morning, joining Bryson DeChambeau at the top with an impressive score of -7. Homa’s standout moment came with a remarkable long putt on the fourth hole of the second round.

Starting from the 14th hole, Homa displayed a near-flawless performance, bouncing back from a bogey on the last hole of the first round. His exceptional play included two consecutive birdies, highlighted by a superb approach shot on the 17th hole.

In the second round, Homa continued his strong display, securing two birdies in his first four holes. This performance was unexpected from the 11th-ranked player in the world, known to be less consistent in major tournaments.

Despite less impressive tee shots, Homa excelled with his irons, hitting every green in regulation during the round.

Tiger Woods faced challenges with delays due to weather conditions, impacting his chances at the tournament. Woods struggled with two bogeys in his first five holes of the second round, hovering near the projected cut line of +2 or +3.

Although Woods struggled with his putting, his ball-striking remained solid, hitting over 80% of fairways off the tee, a rate higher than the tournament average. To survive the cut, Woods will need to improve his putting and overcome increasing discomfort.

Cameron Young, known for his consistent performance yet often overlooked in major tournaments, made a strong start in the second round with three birdies in his first six holes, positioning himself just two shots behind the leaders. Canadian golfer Corey Connors also performed well, currently in eighth place, five shots behind the lead.

Bryson DeChambeau, the co-leader, and Scottie Scheffler, in second place, are set to continue their rounds at different times throughout the day.
