NEW YORK, New York — Jalen Brunson, the star guard for the New York Knicks, has been married to Ali Marks Brunson since 2023. The couple has one daughter, Jordyn, and their relationship has deep roots, dating back to their high school days.

Jalen and Ali, high school sweethearts, met at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois, where they attended prom together. Brunson fondly recalled their time together, stating in May 2015, “Went to prom with the best date anyone could ask for 😊.”

Ali Marks Brunson, a dedicated professional, graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2017 with a degree in kinesiology and exercise science. She furthered her education at Northwestern University‘s Feinberg School of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2021.

Before supporting her husband in New York, Ali worked as a physical therapist at the W.B. Carrell Memorial Clinic in Dallas while Brunson played for the Dallas Mavericks. Now, she practices at ATI Physical Therapy in Harrison, New York. Ali’s focus is on integrating physical therapy methods with strength training, aiming to provide personalized treatment plans for her clients.

Brunson’s proposal to Ali came in 2022 in their high school gym while he was being inducted into the school’s athletic hall of fame. The pair married in 2024 at the Ritz-Carlton in Chicago. Their daughter, Jordyn James Brunson, was born in July 2024, regularly seen cheering on her father from the stands.

In a tribute to her late father, Jim Marks, who died of cancer in 2010, Ali ran a marathon in 2020 to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer. She has actively supported Project Purple, a non-profit organization dedicated to funding research and providing financial aid to families affected by pancreatic cancer.

Ali expressed her connection to the cause, stating, “In 2010, my father lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. Ten years later, I officially completed a marathon with Project Purple, an organization that supports families just like mine.”
