Mega Millions Lottery Ticket With $62 Million Jackpot

The Mega Millions jackpot has risen to $62 million for Tuesday’s drawing after no one matched all six numbers in Friday’s draw. The winning numbers for the Tuesday, Jan. 7 drawing were 20, 24, 33, 39, 48, with a Megaball of 18 and a Megaplier of 2X. If a player matches all six numbers, they can opt for a one-time lump sum payment of $27.4 million.

This drawing follows a major win in December 2023, when a single ticket holder claimed a jackpot exceeding $1 billion. According to the Mega Millions organization, only four jackpots were won in 2023, marking the fewest jackpot wins in a calendar year since the game’s inception in 2002.

To play Mega Millions, participants must purchase a ticket and select six numbers: five white balls numbered 1 to 70 and one gold Mega Ball numbered 1 to 25. Players can also opt for a Quick Pick, where numbers are randomly generated by the system. For an additional $1, players can add the Megaplier, which multiplies non-jackpot prizes by two, three, four, or five times.

Tickets are available at various retail locations, including convenience stores, gas stations, and grocery stores. In select states and territories, tickets can also be purchased online through platforms like Jackpocket, the official digital lottery courier of the USA TODAY Network. States offering online ticket purchases include Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, and New York, among others.

Winners are advised to check their tickets and claim prizes through official lottery channels. For those struggling with gambling addiction, resources are available through hotlines such as 1-800-GAMBLER.
